What started as a collaboration between me and water as a material, artist and sound maker, grew into an exploration of our push and pull relationship. Water is used as a medium and metaphor in this piece, to explore feelings of derealisation and anxiety.

An in-between immersive space is created for the viewer to experience, to feel as they are underwater but also looking above the water in the same instance.

I am questioning things such as “What can we learn from water?”, “How does water affect the self?”, “Can I draw within a space” and themes such as rebirth, the cycle of life and reflection.

This piece was shown at the BFA/BA Fine Art degree show at the Slade School of Fine Art in summer 2023.
